![]() Insight Timer was designed to give anyone and everyone free access to meditation and yoga sessions that are convenient, easy, and enjoyable. Insight Timer is available to download from your smartphone in the App Store or Google Play but is also available online for those that would instead practice from their laptop or desktop computer. Not only does Insight Timer give everyone that signs up access to hundreds of guided meditations, but also to pre-recorded and live yoga classes, all for FREE. It touts itself as the #1 app for sleep, anxiety, and stress and boasts the world’s most extensive library of free meditations from some of the industries leading teachers and gurus. If you do try out the app or you already use it, do let us know your thoughts in the comments below– and if you have any favourite guided meditations, please share! I very much look forward to going on this journey with you.Insight Timer is a mediation app with something for just about everyone who wants to begin practicing meditation, improve their current practice, or create new habits surrounding mindfulness. Natasha’s mum (Paulette Chanco) also has a selection of free guided meditations which I’ve also completed in the past and would really recommend to everyone, wherever you might be on your journey. The course walks you through different techniques as well as the concept of meditation and the benefits of it. A really helpful course which I started with and which I will be revisiting is the free ‘Learn How to Meditate In Seven Days’ course. The Insight Timer is helpful in this sense that it provides a record of your daily meditation and is set up in a way that allows you to take control of your meditation practices. If you’re starting out, or like me, haven’t done it in a while, I would recommend taking little steps first, perhaps doing just 5-10 minutes every morning or evening and gradually increasing your time. ![]() I think it’s great that this platform provides the opportunity for children to nourish the habit of meditation from a young age, a habit which I believe is an essential building block to an enriched and more balanced adult life.Īs this month’s focus is on self-care and is also the month of ‘resolutions,’ I would like to invite you all to join me on a month of consistent meditation. When I think back to my own childhood, a conversation regarding mindfulness as a practice wasn’t something that was readily accessible or widespread. I think this is a really cool and exciting addition to the app and one which is definitely much needed. There’s also the option to perform your own timed meditation with the timer function which has a number of settings, including background sounds and interval bells.Īs well as being a great app, the reason that I wanted to share this with our community is because I’ve recently noticed that a new ‘children’ feature has been added to the app, which provides free courses to encourage children to get into the habit of meditation and mindfulness. It is a free app with thousands of guided meditations which are categorised into the following topics: sleep deeply, dealing with anxiety and reducing stress, getting through recovery and addiction, self-love and compassion, focus and concentration, leadership, better relationships, loving-kindness (and much more!). Natasha introduced me to this app back in 2014 and I have been using it (quite inconsistently, I have to admit) over the years. ![]() This is not so much a review as it is a recommendation of a meditation app, Insight Timer. ![]()
